Technology/ICT is powerful tool which ,if appropriately ,can be helpful to a learner in facilitating his/her effort towards learning a given content..In developing countries learnering environment is constrained by certain limitations such as limited access to techonology, lack of infrastructure/trained professionals(teacher/faclitator).However,one should not be discouraged but make use of this opportunity to serve those who have not been served. Effective use of mix of what ever is available with serious efforts towards capacity building will result in creating a sustainable strategy. Learn from failures of multimillion dollor projects financed by multilateral institutions in ther educatipon sector. They could unload funds but even today the developing countries are way behind in terms of capacy to sustain the benefits of such initiatives.Modernize criculum to include ICT both in school curriculum and teacher training.Create awarness among community to ensure support to studentd from their parents.Technology is a cart .Teacher and the learner should be prepared to use and should be capable to use it.

Hello Sheikh
I'm an EFL teacher and ICT4E researcher. I'm really inteterested in this program. Thanks for bringing this peice of information to us. I'd like to commend the authors of the program for the desire to bring a change in the English language teaching. What impresses me it the ability of the program to address the need of students with an effective integration of ICT to support learning. a real challenge
My question is how you fund the program? is it the Government or a local stakeholders?

It is hard to make changes in Bangladesh and the English in Action project is doing some brilliant work in there. They really need to be appreciated for this. Teaching English using latest technologies like iPod is certainly a new dimension in the Bangladeshi Teaching arena, and it has already made some changes in teacher believes and practices. However I was just wondering if it could be possible to involve OLPC with this, then it would bring a lot more to the students of Bangladesh (specially to the UCEP children).
